Online Collaborative Inquiries Classroom Blogging Ventures and Multiple Literacies

The article "Online Collaborative Inquiries:  Classroom Blogging Ventures and Multiple Literacies" states how teachers need to know how to implement and integrate technology into the classroom to ensure students' success.  Technology has had "a positive effect on student motivation and learning."  However, teachers need to use technology purposefully.
The article provided many useful hyperlinks, but I really enjoyed the link to Karen Lirenman's blog.
It showed many useful ways to implement technology into the classroom.  She uses IPads and Apple TV in her classroom.  I would love to use IPads in my classroom.  I have created folders for my four year old son that includes apps on writing, math, spelling, sight words, matching, songs, and so many more!  My son loves it and can easily identify and open his own folders.  I would love to differentiate for my students using apps.
Here is a YouTube video about the many different ways to use iPads in the classroom.

  1. Suzanne, thanks tons for the mention on your blog. If you can believe it in Oct 2011 I did not know how to turn on an iPod touch and now I can't imagine teaching without technology. What I always stress though is that it isn't about the technology itself. Technology is just a tool, but when used properly it is an incredible tool. I have watched how it has given my selective mute a voice, or helped my severely learning disabled student show his knowledge in less traditional ways. If I can help in any way on your journey with technology please don't hesitate to ask. :-) Karen
