Motivating Students to Read

I had to share!
I just finished reading about Ms. Ripp and how she motivates her students to read more.  It is a simple and do-able list of ways to get students excited to read.
One example I want to try is to show students movie trailers about books!  What a brilliant idea!  I would love to create movie trailers about books that I am going to read in the class.
I hope this list inspires you like it did for me!

  1. I also like finding new ways to get my students excited about learning. I like the speed book review idea. It might be hard for my students to share reviews, but I could share quick reviews and they could decide which book they would like to listen to.

    1. I thought it would also be a great way to present a new theme. I think this would work for you and your preschoolers. You could make a video preview of the book: include the title with cover, the main characters, setting, author's picture and bio, et cetra. I would use this to activate prior knowledge and scaffold what they already know. I hope this helps you!
